Cat Spelled Backwards Doesn't Spell God ReviewA copy of this book was given to me by a good friend from Portland. As I read through it, I found myself chuckling, both because of the wonderful photographs and the wry commentary. I was prepared to dislike the book, because I thought that a book about dogs might be too "cutesy". It was not. Instead, I loved it, have reread it several times, and have loaned it to several friends. Jeff Selis has a wonderful eye and a matching gift for understated writing which is perfect for this book. I hope we see more from Mr. Selis, and soon! Regardless of whether you enjoy watching dogs, or their owners, (or, I guess, neither) you will find this book to be a breath of fresh air.Cat Spelled Backwards Doesn't Spell God Overview

A Summer Spell #1 (Magic Kitten) ReviewMy daughter is in 1st grade but reads above grade level. I have struggled to find her books that keep her challenged AND still interested in reading. She devoured this book in 2 days which she hasn't done with other series' - even ones she enjoys. She would put the book down and tell me all about the story and then ask to read more.
It has a nice story line, not scary at all with a nice ending. We have had a bit of issue with the Magic Treehouse since she is very imaginative and the tension in the story would bother her all day and even sometimes impact her sleep. This series' will definitely be one we collect.A Summer Spell #1 (Magic Kitten) Overview

The Enchanted Cat: Feline Fascinations, Spells and Magick Review"The Enchanted Cat" by Ellen Dugan is exactly the book I had been hoping for back when I ordered "Cat Magic: Mews, Myths and Mystery" by Patricia Telesco (and was very disappointed).
Ellen Dugan covers a bit of feline history and lore, yet is able to apply it to the present with spells and activities you can do now with your cat(s). A variety of spell subjects are covered that include your cat(s) and/or hairs shed from your cat. There's a kitten blessing, feline naming ritual, listing of names (with a witchy slant) for cats and their meanings. The back of the book contains a "workbook" and journal with subject headings. Ellen Dugan really nailed this one!The Enchanted Cat: Feline Fascinations, Spells and Magick Overview
