Forgotten Men Of Cripple Creek ReviewFor anyone interested in the history of the "District", or the Cripple Creek, CO area this is a very good book. The author of the book was actually one of the early residents of the District in his youth, and he relates a lot of the history without hype and in a realistic way. He doesn't romantize historial events but portrays life as everyday people lived it. He is able to identify people in early day photographs because he was there when the pictures were taken. Overall, this book is a good balance to the stories of whores and millionaires which other books seem to dwell on. The author also describes his encounters with Winfield S. Stratton that doesn't rely on caricatures or exaggerations. I recommend this book because shows what life for most people in the District was like.Forgotten Men Of Cripple Creek Overview
