Everyday Wicca: Magickal Spells Throughout the Year (Citadel Library of the Mystic Arts) ReviewI'm glad I never let book reviewers dictate to me what I should or should not read, otherwise I might have overlooked this wonderful book by Gerina Dunwich. The author is enchanting in the way that she writes, and her incantations are very poetic and beautiful. She possesses much wisdom where herbs, pagan deities and occult history are concerned, and she shares it with her readers in a way that is pleasant and easy to comprehend. My only "gripe" with this book was that it did not contain spells for everyday of the year, as the title implied. But the wealth of information this book offered made it, in my humble opinion, one of the best witchcraft books published in ages!Everyday Wicca: Magickal Spells Throughout the Year (Citadel Library of the Mystic Arts) Overview

Good Spells for Bad Days: Broken Hearts, Bounced Checks, and Bitchy Co-Workers - Simple Magick to Fix Any Misfortune ReviewThis Book never should have been written. It appears to make a spell for "any misfortune" when it's actually luring it's readers into a web of incredibly bad Karma. Granted, the Author spends the time telling readers about Intent and Good vs. Bad but she glosses over it. She doesn't touch on the Rule of 3 (or 9 depending on what one chooses) and how what one does will come back magnified 3 or 9 times good or bad. Bad Karma slapping one in the face 9 time sucks incredibly hard. the teens and adults who might read this book aren't properly warned. She goes into "10 Good Things Magick can do for You" (p2) luring young readers in like a Spider; readers who have never been properly introduced into the worlds of Intent. One cannot fix Misfortune with just Magic -- yes, it's properly spelled with just a "c". Whether you like it or not, putting a "k" on the end of it will not make a word more powerful. It just makes you a bad speller; try using the spell-check, please.
I've been a Pagan for over 35 years. I would never recommend something like this. This book and this author is something to take your money and leave you with Bad Karma up the arse. Magic can't fix your problems. Only YOU can.
Try Earth Magic by Scott Cunningham. If you're going to spend money spend it on something that's worth some time. Ms. Alexander's books are trash in my opinion. There's spells in Mr. Cunningham's book as well, but there is a far more detailed course on Ethics. You can't have Magic without Ethics; otherwise you're in for one heckofa Karmic slap.

It is a great book, whether you are new to magick and want to learn more, or are an advanced practioner who needs a bit of a reminder now and then.
