Storm Over the Lake (Under His Spell) ReviewI am not used to writing reviews like this....but here goes. This book started off really intriguing and I had good expectations for the book. However, I soon realized that this is a very "shallow" romance novel. I am used to reading romance novels by Susan Wiggs, Robyn Carr, Linda Howard, etc. and while this novel had interesting "parts" it "fell short". The main male character, Adrian, was a man who seemed to have either extreme PMS mood swings, or a split personality. He would walk into a room having one emotion....and then without "just cause" he would become cruel to Dana... and SHE TOLERATED his behavior which was unbelievable at times. There was also 17 yrs. difference in their ages, which is not horrible, but this was "stressed to the point of obsession and it became a "little creepy" when he kept referring to her as a "little girl" even when he trying to seduce her; it did not come across as "romantic" to me....but just "creepy". This was not the book for me and I am an avid reader who LOVES romance stories. I have already purchased another one of this author's books---so I am hoping THAT one will be better.Storm Over the Lake (Under His Spell) Overview

Sweet Enemy (Under His Spell) ReviewIt pains me to give a bad review to this book, but it pained me to read it, too, so I guess it's only fair. I am a big Diana Palmer fan, and have liked books that many other fans have not (Diamond Spur, Fit For a King, Rage of Passion) but this book was truly abyssmal. I cannot call the main male character a hero, because he doesn't come even close. He is violent, cruel and downright mean. I guess we are supposed to understand that he is sheilding his tender emotions, but I cannot believe the wet noodle "heroine" puts up with his *years* of emotional abuse. He takes and takes and gives nothing in return but rough "lessons" in intimacy that serve to humiliate rather than educate. It is, literally, only in the last few pages that he makes the big transformation to loving good guy, but it is much too little, much too late. And to top it all off, we don't even get a love scene! Boo, hiss!! I wish I had read the other reviews here, first. I won't make that mistake again.Sweet Enemy (Under His Spell) Overview

Love on Trial (Under his Spell) ReviewGood book, as are most of Ms. Diana Palmer's books. The usual story about a young woman falling in love with a much older man. A good storyline, not an overwhelming amount of characters and a very considerable amount of the book is spent on the main characters. However, i thought i would yell out if i kept hearing "that chiseled mouth and that thick hair on his chest"....yadda yadda. The ending for me was too sudden and rushed, but above all a good story.Love on Trial (Under his Spell) Overview
