Black Magic for Dark Times: Spells of Revenge and Protection ReviewAngela Kaelin's Black Magic for Dark Times: Spells of Revenge and Protection is a book of spells written for good people who have been wronged in some way and don't have any other recourse. Basically, it's intended for victims of crime where justice was not served. The author writes a lengthy introduction which includes some personal stories and the reason behind her writing this, plus a section on the difference between justice and revenge.
After the intro, the book goes into some basic protections that can be implemented, such as spreading sea salt across your thresholds or using crystals. There were some really interesting methods for discovering thieves and protecting yourself and your property from them. The spells are detailed with what you need to perform them as well as things to recite while doing the required actions. It's all straightforward and not dressed up with elaborate descriptions, so the plain English writing is nice for someone not already familiar with this subject matter. I will admit that some of the darker ones, like the Black Coffin Death Spell, were pretty disturbing in how it required you to bury something in a cemetery.
I am not a practitioner of magic in any way and read this ebook from an unknowing outsider's point of view because I found the material fascinating. Even if you have no intention to practice magic, it still makes for an interesting read into the process and components used for the spells. Be curious like I was, and check it out.
