The Book of Spells: Postive Enchantments to Enhance Your Life ReviewAs a "Spell Collector" of sorts, this book was a nice and cheap treat. The introduction is pretty short and to the point, and if you are serious about the religions that are often hidden behind spell craft, I suggest other books. Stil, Johnstone presents exactly what the cover says, and then some. Most of the spells are pretty rational, and do not require expensive and hard to find ingredients, which is a major plus. The small amount of info Johnstone gives also can help in developing and creating your own spells and rituals. My only complaints are his somewhat inaccurate information on history (namely on witches and Wicca), and his blurbs about needing specific tools. The tools are nice to have, to add to the psychotrip of casting, but aren't necessary and almost always substitutable.
