Green Witchcraft II: Balancing Light & Shadow ReviewA friend suggested this to me some time ago after I complained about how "fluffy" or severely dianic so many books in this area sometimes seem to be. I can't thank them enough!
Finally, a book that talks about _balance_. Light and dark, male and female; she reminds you that energy itself isn't one or the other, but neutral. It's what you do with it that matters.
Moura has a proper yet conversational writing style, which lets you absorb and think about the information presented without stumbling through bad grammar and awkward language. Though I'm not too sure about the faery stuff, much of the rest of what she has to say really hit home for me. Her listing of the basic "laws" of witchcraft is simple, clear, and to the point- probably the best phrasing I've seen.
She suggests ways of dealing with your fears via visualization and meditation; offers basic information about ogham, tarot, creating ritual, and obviously, working with both "light" and "dark". She keeps a balance of male and female, leaving this book pleasantly neutral.
A useful book for those looking for "something more" as they wade through the books available about paganism, witchcraft in particular. At the top of my recommendations list, along with Cunningham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner".Green Witchcraft II: Balancing Light & Shadow Overview

Green Magic: The Sacred Connection to Nature ReviewIn this installment of the Green Tradition, Ann Moura explores energy working. While this may seem very a general topic, Ms. Moura has tied this all in with her own tradition of Green WitchCraft.
All the components of working magic are here, and tradition or no, they can be applied across the board in any tradition where the individual wants to work magic. This reads as a basic 101 to a 202 primer on working with energy, energy manipulation, components of spell working and all the ritual and tools associated with this.
I was pleased to see someone finally approach magic as the energy work it is and work through the basics without the mumbo jumbo. Her section on energy is good, and her discussion on purpose and method will spark some conversations.
This is a good companion to her previous books, and is a good working primer on spellcasting and energy working. If you found her other books on her Green WitchCraft path your path, then this is a good continuation of that work.Green Magic: The Sacred Connection to Nature Overview

The Way Of The Green Witch: Rituals, Spells, And Practices to Bring You Back to Nature ReviewI'm writing this review for two reasons. The first is to add my advice to skip this book. If you are new to Green Witchery there are other books far better and if you aren't new to it this book will be a waste of your time at best and piss you off at worst. My second reason is to make sure those not familiar with her other books don't miss out on her truly wonderful books because of this unfortunate misstep. I can't recommend Power Spellcraft and Solitary Wicca enough. Power Spellcraft is a wonderful book on pure Spellcraft(not High Magick) sans religion. Solitary Wicca is clear, concise and encourages the reader to think about why you are doing something instead of just learning how to do it. If you are in the market for a Wicca 201 book or a book on spellcraft seperate from religion, please read the reviews for the aforementioned books for more info.
