Fear of Rain ReviewHaving grown up in Johnstown it was very cool to read a tale filled with places I recognized and have visited dozens of times. Robert Jeschonek weaves a fantastic tale around the three great floods that actually tore through Johnstown, starting in 1889 up through 1977. The antagonist is eerie but his old-fashioned morals make him sort of likeable and you can understand his motive. The young protagonist is the polar opposite, young, fresh and hip but every bit as clever and creative as her elder. Mr. Jeschonek crams alot of story into a short tale. Whether you are a native of Johnstown or from the other side of the planet, you will find this a fun, wickedly twisted tale that will have you wondering nervously the next time you hear rain drops fall.Fear of Rain OverviewReviews"It's a magical tale, well told with some wonderful imagery." - Gareth D. Jones, New Review, laurahird.comRobert T. Jeschonek "sees the world like no one else sees it, and makes incredibly witty, incisive stories out of that skewed worldview." - Mike Resnick, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of the Starship series Product DescriptionA British Fantasy Award nominee. Thanks to the sorcerous Mr. Flood, Johnstown, Pennsylvania has drowned three times...and the fourth time will be the charm. Refusing to let the fourth flood sink Johnstown, young Dee uses her own powers against her wicked mentor, setting off a battle of magic rainmakers in the heart of the raging storm. Will thousands of people drown in the ultimate deluge? Will madness and destruction doom Johnstown to an eternal watery grave? Or will hope and heart turn back the tide of history, striking a blow against darkness and disaster? Who'll stop the rain? Crisis Hospital: Dark Tales from the Ward, the World, and the Bedside ReviewTalk about diverse characters... These short stories all had different themes, and the writer really knew how to introduce you to them very quickly. Some of the stories were super small, but the impact was felt (for me) for days after. The second story is still freaking me out a little. As a lifelong Stephen King and horror movie addict I can honestly say that I had a lot of fun with this light read, and the only thing I would change is that I would have liked a few more pages here and there to add to the suspense. But honestly the suspense wasn't needed and extra length wouldn't change the quality of the work. This chick is talented.

Sang Spell Reviewand read this book. I wasn't sure if it would be good or not, but I desperately needed something to read and ordered it from a book club. I was hooked from the first compelling sentence. Josh had to go to Texas to live with his aunt after his mother's death. Hitchiking to his destination, he got beaten up by a man who offered him a ride. Later, a woman in a horse and buggy took him to Canara, an alternate universe. He was confused about the unusual civilization, but time unraveled the mysteries and his grief. Soon, he made friends and developped loyalty towards the town. Will he ever be able to leave? Does he want to? I highly suggest you read it to discover what happens.Sang Spell Overview
