Irid ReviewA fairly complex book for it's length. Started a bit slow but once the momentum got going it was fine. As for the other critique that it was just a sexual fantasy, way too complex for a sexual fantasy. (Lmfao!) Maybe if that person only read a little bit. Need to really get the into the book to understand the situations. The intimacies were used as a romantic overture in a blackmail scheme to save their people. So that critique was so far off, it was laughable. As for the writing style, the writer totally could have expanded this story into a lengthier book. But as it stands with no fluff, it's fine too. And I liked the ending. Thought it wrapped up very well. No overhangs suggesting sequel. Hate those. Anyways, definitely would suggest this book to others.Irid OverviewIt has been over 100 years since the Null War, and the Irids are still dying off. The only hope of survival is to find the Zircon: the only person who can weld the Prism power. However, their kind had all been murdered before the war, and popular belief is that only a Zircon can find a Zircon. Yet, Tarah's grandmother believes that Zircons still exist and claims to have discovered the key to finding one. But there is one problem; Tarah's grandmother is insane. It's up to Tarah to convince her hebdomad (the seven who wield each of the special power of the Irids) that they have no choice but to delve into the past and find a way to save their race. To do so, Tarah must break every rule of Irids, be seduced by the power of darkness and learn the harsh realities of light. Warning: Novel for Adults. Author's Note: Make use of the Glossary at the end of the book, while reading.

The Darkslayer - Fantasy/Adventure (Illustrated) ReviewIn a word, fun!
In three words: FUN FUN FUN!
Seriously this is a great action fantasy. I love the way Halloran keeps the action moving forward. Evil needs to have its face smashed and the Darkslayer is the hero to do it. Alternatively, Evil might require a dirk slid betwixt its ribs and Melegal (my fave character) will be happy to oblige.
This is not Tolkien. Noone will break into a 5-page song about the coming of spring (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but that's probably not what you're looking for reading the DarkSLAYER, is it? Look at that cover-- that's what I'm talking about! That reminds me--Ernie Chan (arguably the best of Marvel's illustrators for the Conan the Barbarian and SSOC series among others) produced some spectacular artwork to highlight scenes throughout the book.
Buy it! Read it! But strap on a helmet first. Maybe wear a cup.The Darkslayer - Fantasy/Adventure (Illustrated) Overview"Do as they say or die in the dungeons," the poor storekeepers would say. "Do as they say or disappear," the commoners would warn. But Venir and Melegal could not have cared less what anyone had to say. They had been this way since their childhood. As the underlings rally all of the evil forces they can muster to destroy the mystical and legendary Darkslayer, something unexpected has upset the delicate balance between good and evil on the world called Bish, making the Darkslayer a pawn in other insidious disputes.Strife and turmoil are constant features of life as humans struggle to survive among a wide array of creatures, including orcs, ogres, and the most evil of all--the underlings. When recklessness provokes a Royal household, Venir is forced to flee the city, along withhis comrade, the skinny thief Melegal. The Royals and underlings soon unleash some unusual powers against him and start to close in. Facing the final showdown, nothing unfolds as it should.

Fear of Rain ReviewHaving grown up in Johnstown it was very cool to read a tale filled with places I recognized and have visited dozens of times. Robert Jeschonek weaves a fantastic tale around the three great floods that actually tore through Johnstown, starting in 1889 up through 1977. The antagonist is eerie but his old-fashioned morals make him sort of likeable and you can understand his motive. The young protagonist is the polar opposite, young, fresh and hip but every bit as clever and creative as her elder. Mr. Jeschonek crams alot of story into a short tale. Whether you are a native of Johnstown or from the other side of the planet, you will find this a fun, wickedly twisted tale that will have you wondering nervously the next time you hear rain drops fall.Fear of Rain OverviewReviews"It's a magical tale, well told with some wonderful imagery." - Gareth D. Jones, New Review, laurahird.comRobert T. Jeschonek "sees the world like no one else sees it, and makes incredibly witty, incisive stories out of that skewed worldview." - Mike Resnick, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of the Starship series Product DescriptionA British Fantasy Award nominee. Thanks to the sorcerous Mr. Flood, Johnstown, Pennsylvania has drowned three times...and the fourth time will be the charm. By the time he gets done flooding Johnstown, the city will vanish beneath the waves forever...unless his flood-making apprentice, Dee, has anything to say about it. Refusing to let the fourth flood sink Johnstown, young Dee uses her own powers against her wicked mentor, setting off a battle of magic rainmakers in the heart of the raging storm. Will thousands of people drown in the ultimate deluge? Will madness and destruction doom Johnstown to an eternal watery grave? Or will hope and heart turn back the tide of history, striking a blow against darkness and disaster? Who'll stop the rain? No one, if Mr. Flood gets his way. This fantasy masterpiece made waves around the world, winning a British Fantasy Award nomination and taking Russia by storm. Don't miss the uncut version of this legendary story, available here and now from Tsetse Press.ContentsShort story plus novel previewAbout the AuthorRobert T. The Witches of Dixie: Book One (The Witchery Series) ReviewThis book was OK. I enjoyed it, but it doesn't get better than that, for me, even though I would have really wanted to report that I loved it.
The stories would have come to me better if they had been presented in sequence, as an anthology of four independent stories with a common theme. The hopping from one to another and back again was rather distracting.
I liked the spells, and the effects that they had on the lives of the four witches.
Because the author is Laura Satmps, I was expecting much more sex, but maybe that is my fault for setting my own expectations incorrectly.
Yes, it is a fairly good book, and I would recommend it to those of you who are interested in the effects that practicing witchcraft can have on a witches life. The Witches of Dixie: Book One (The Witchery Series) OverviewMeet the Witches of Dixie! Savannah Monroe's life is sliding toward disaster no matter how hard she works or how many spells she casts. Maylene Whitmire thinks she is disappearing. Mirabella Middleton's successful art career begins to crumble in a flat economy, while Ravena Riley's husband sinks toward the angry depths of a midlife crisis. Four Southern Witches whose lives suddenly turn widdershins as they scramble to understand what's happening. This is a very empowering novel for women. It's also the only novel in this series with no romance or sex. "The Witchery Series" is a sexy paranormal romance novel trilogy. In this series you'll meet five wonderful Witches: Savannah, Maylene, Mirabella, Noelle, and Ravena. There's something for everyone in this trilogy. The novels range from empowering to romantic to erotic. You'll also find real spells, chants, and rituals in each one. THE WITCHES OF DIXIE is the perfect read to get you through a cold night!" --Madelyn Alt, National Bestselling Author of HEX MARKS THE SPOT "I picked up THE WITCHES OF DIXIE, settled in for a read, and three hours later I was finished. I had lost track of time and was totally captivated by the characters and the plot of the novel. Shaking my head in disbelief I had to laugh. This is not just another fiction book. This is a novel that actually makes you think and feel. With her way of mixing real life situations with magickal workings it shows clearly Laura Stamps' devotion to her path, characters, and readers." --Mystic Witch About the Author: Laura Stamps is an award-winning Pagan erotica and paranormal romance novelist, whose daily blog is wickedly naughty. I Put a Spell on You ReviewRonan, the bastard son of Lancelot of the Lake, is on a quest. After a last, devastating battle with Mordred, in which Arthur was mortally wounded, Merlin charges Ronan to travel forward in time and find the Grail.
Professor Morgan Foster is shocked to see a wounded man lying in the rain when she looks out the theater door. She brings him inside, and is shocked to learn he's one of Arthur's knights, brought forward in time by Merlin. Morgan is instantly attracted to Ronan, who returns her affections, but he knows he must search for the Grail. But is it closer than it seems.
Bronwyn Green puts an interesting and erotic spin on the Arthur tale with Ronan, a knight to die for. His chivalrous manner and love for Morgan made me swoon, and made me wish for my own magical knight. I loved watching him woe Morgan, who watched her father cheat on her mother, and vowed never to love. Add in a villain in the form of Mordred and you have a wonderful story.
Lovers of the Arthurian tales will not want to miss Ronan's Grail. It is a book that will warm your heart, and make you believe in magic. Morgan Foster is the sister of Gray Foster, featured in Ms. Green's book I Put A Spell On You.

Now he wants her more than ever. He's even willing to use her ridiculous idea of an interrupted sex spell to convince her how good things could be between them-leaving Tem to wonder if love is stronger than magic and worth the risk to her heart.

Kiss and Spells ReviewThis is a great book.I really enjoyed this book. It is very entertaining and interesting book. I would highly recommend it to one and all.Kiss and Spells OverviewWhen pragmatic career girl Belinda explores an odd new shop on her lunch break, she surprises herself when she buys two "how to cast spells" books as a gag gift for her best friend, never realizing the changes they have in store for her own life.Working at her job (with which she has a love/hate relationship) she contends with a colorful cast of fellow employees, ranging from cowboy wanna-be Ty to the wildly inappropriate "I-know-where-the-bodies-are-buried" HR Manager Lorna. As she works diligently to please her eagle-eyed boss and rise in her career when she unexpectedly meets handsome and older Alan Gregson, a new client who becomes both a fascination and a mystery in her life. Work, boyfriend woes and margaritas are de riguer for her and her best friend Beth, and just when when she starts to see some light on both fronts, the twists and turns come at her fast and hard.As Belinda navigates the changes in her life, she comes to realize what true love might be and how to finally make an impression on her difficult boss who has his own strange past and future problems brewing. Tears for Hesh (short story) (Beyond the Veil) ReviewWell written story. It has all the typical stuff you expect with a fantasy story: magic, evil wizard, slightly dim yet likeable wizard's helper, and dangerous potion components. It has a tragic ending, which is why this didn't get 5 stars.. I am one of those people who loves to see the bad guy get a taste of his own medicine, so the ending dissapointed me a little. Otherwise, good story!Tears for Hesh (short story) (Beyond the Veil) OverviewTears for Hesh is a short story of just over 3,200 words. Set in the world of The Guardian's Apprentice, this is the story of Hesh, a young man who works for a coniving, power-hungry wizard who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Hesh is a gentle giant, towering above others, but soft spoken and afflicted with a stammer when he gets nervous. Sent on an errand for his master, he ucovers a terrible secret and must face the consequences.

Delightfully Twisted Tales: Wisps, Spells and Faerie Tales (Volume Four) ReviewTo tell the truth, I usually pass the short stories by for a more "involved" read. I am so glad that I didn't pass this one up. I thoroughly enjoyed this small collection of whimsy and LOL'd at the wizards. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys just a good story and has a few minutes to spare!Delightfully Twisted Tales: Wisps, Spells and Faerie Tales (Volume Four) OverviewA curious restaurant patron gets more than she bargains for, a pair of drunken wizards cause a scene downtown, a boy learns that smoking in front of his little brother might not be such a bad thing, and a timid teen faces a giant in the name of love.
