Healing the Highlander (Daughters of the Glen) ReviewHealing the Highlander was a great addition to this series! I love how Ms. Mayhue continues to build on the world and characters we encountered in her first books. Modern day Leah, who we encountered in previous novels, is the subject of this book along with battered and scarred highlander Andrew MacAlister. When I first started to read about Andrew I feared that he'd end up being a angry bitter character for the entire book like most scarred heroes I've encountered. I was so glad to see that Andrew remained determined and strong throughout the book, and while he did battle his insecurities and challenges stemming from his injury, he never let it get the best of him. Leah, complete with her own emotional scars, is rescued by Andrew from a loch and while she battles her own internal issues, we have the pleasure of seeing Leah's walls come down. Andrew and Leah are a wonderfully paired couple, both strong in their own ways and weak in others, and they both complement each other in how they face those weaknesses.
This book has all the elements of a lighthearted Romance. I especially loved how Ms. Mayhue conveyed that family goes beyond the immediate. Leah is transported to Medieval Scotland to escape the torture of a Nuadian Fae, and there she finds a family she has never met before. She embraces them and is embraced by them, forging new bonds of loyalty which sends her on quest to save them in this book.
Much like Ms. Mayhue's previous books, I was drawn into the writing, the story and the characters. I continue to love how these stories unfold, each highlighting specific characters, letting their stories be told and live independently and yet part of a whole. This seventh book in the series does not disappoint. I would strongly recommend reading these books in order since characters appear throughout the series and events that take place in previous books have an impact on things that happen in later ones (for example; how modern day Leah ended up in the past)

Christmas Carol (Love Spell Timeswept Romance) ReviewIt's refreshing to see a classic such as this be written from a woman's point of view. I've watched at least four different versions of A Christmas Carol, the last actually being a Disney cartoon titled "Mickey's Christmas Carol". Jacob Marley doesn't get a second chance at redemption or love like Carol Simmons. He has all those chains and has to live in hell for all eternity. I think Carol made it hell for those at Lady Augusta's funeral by taking her anger out on those from the church who asked for a donation. All this came from a man who destroyed her innocence, Drummond. I find it ironic that she meets and falls in love with Nicholas in two of the places she visits, the third being at Christmas in her own time. It's also uncanny that Drummond is the one who puts down the rebellion in the future. Even though Lady Augusta was miserly and hard on all in her employ, she still got a chance to redeem herself through Carol Simmons. This is worthy of the Dicken's classic!!Christmas Carol (Love Spell Timeswept Romance) Overview

A Pharaoh, a Spell and Jade ReviewMiss Arwen's PHARAOH, is a compelling, fast-paced feast for the senses, guaranteed to keep you hooked from beginning to end!
Someone is trying to kill Egypt's Pharaoh, Sneferu. Knowing it will only be a matter of time before they succeed, he makes a pack with the God Osiris--asking if murdered, he be brought back to avenge his death by one worthy to aid him in his quest.
Flash forward to modern day. Egyptologist Jade Morgan is in the middle of a dig when she finds a secret doorway. Hidden within the small room is an intricately inscribed armband, she can't help but slip on...and the sexiest man her virgin eyes have ever seen. Mesmerized, she reaches out to touch the man's chiseled muscles and bronzed flesh. When her fingers caress the gold amulet on his chest, the next thing she knows, she's lying in a bed next to him. A bed smack dab in the Pharaoh's palace of ancient Egypt.
Sneferu knows this pale beauty is the one the Gods sent him by the armband she wears. While he can't believe they would send him a woman, he sees her as a precious gift and enjoys initiating her in all the pleasures his world has to offer. But when his feelings for her deepen and the threats on both of their lives seem overwhelming, will these two be able to work together to overcome the evil working tirelessly to smote them? Or will the Pharaoh's fate play out as it did before?
Stunning, inspiring and evocative all come to mind when I think of this book. Though short, it lacks nothing in content, characterization or emotion. With a delectable hero, vivid imagery and lyrical prose worthy of the God Osiris herself, this talented author weaves a spell over the reader as strong as the one binding the fated lovers together. Miss Arwen deftly fleshes out all of the characters with such precision they come alive in your mind's eye. So much so, I found myself on the verge of tears right alongside them, only to smile with joy at the wonderful ending. I highly recommend this book! In fact, I am running to my keeper shelf to place PHAROAH on it, while grabbing her debut and subsequent efforts, so as to read more from this fresh, new voice in romance who has proven she is here to stay.

Garden Spells ReviewWhen I read this book I got a little suprise- It is not a Pagan writing, per se. Although some of the charms and spells invoke the moon as Selene, most of the material is Christian. Nevertheless, it is an interesting little book and gives some great hints about attracting and seeing faeries.

There is a very extensive section on the meanings of flowers given in a a bouquet. Also the lore on some Angels, their planets, and their flowers.

I would say that this book is a good starting point for anyone wishing to enhance their garden by magick... but definately not a great source for much in the way of garden magick.Garden Spells Overview

The Juliet Spell (Harlequin Teen) Review**Spoilers**
As I read this book, I kept thinking, 'Yes! This is going to make four or five stars! I am loving this idea, the characters, the flow!' Then, the book dove...hard. Let me explain.
What a great plot! Girl wants the role of Juliet (what actress doesn't?). Girl casts a spell to get role after bum audition (what girl wouldn't?). Girl gets hot Shakespeare from the past instead (what girl couldn't live with that?). It's a sweet idea!
Miranda was not my favorite female lead character. Her character seemed flat and it was difficult to get a connection. In other reviews, bloggers have suggested that it was the fact that the author is male, so writing this from a female's perspective was awkward. I kind of agree to that. He seemed to put his effort into the male characters more than Miranda's. He did a great job with Edmund! I really enjoyed his persona, his passion, and his spark! My favorite was definitely Drew, though. Such a sweet, head-over-heels in love boy. The best friend that was always there. I think these two saved the book for me.
The biggest downfall was towards the end. I was happy with the explanation of Edmund's time travel to be magic. Bringing into the factor science experiments, battery-water....blah blah blah. It lost me. Then I actually laughed at the whole phone app thing. Really? Magic was more believable. It got way too confusing and too quickly. It was quite the let down.
On the romance-side of things, I did not like the battle of relationships. Edmund was a player. Period. It's the time-period he came from. For Miranda to just take him later on seemed implausible. He's dirty in more ways that just needing a good bath. It was obvious from the beginning that Drew had been in love with her. The way it all played out did not make me happy. Miranda was seconds for Edmund and Drew for MIranda. Ick.
In all, I gave three stars just because this story has such good promise. It didn't make even a fraction more because it just faltered in the end. I would love to get your opinions on this story.

The Sealed Door Book four in The Seven Spell Saga ReviewThis is the fourth book in the Seventh spell saga, another great adventure for the main characters. I read it in two days! as I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I love these characters, can't wait to find out what their next adventure will bring. The Sealed Door Book four in The Seven Spell Saga OverviewA paranormal romance, urban fantasy romance, The Sealed Door is suitable for eighteen years and up; in this, the fourth book, The Seven Spell Saga, grows up and gets steamy. In The Sealed Door, we find Chloe McGarry still in love with both Oliver Tarrant and Tristan Dearing. Both Oliver and Tristan love her too.The Sealed Door sees the relationship between Oliver and Chloe become very serious and yet she is still unable to choose between him and Tristan. Oliver suddenly realizes she will never choose between them, will it change his feelings for her?{We stood close together near the window and looked out at the garden, there were leaves everywhere, blown from the trees. I realized the trees that had shielded one side of the garden from the lane were almost bare, it was definitely fall. Oliver put his cup down on the table and came back to me taking my hand and turning me to him, he started to kiss me. I kissed him back and held him, I could trace his backbone through his cotton shirt, and I moved my hands up to his face and held him as I kissed him. He was so lovely, and I loved him dearly. I thought as I kissed him, how much I would like to make love to him, with him, why not, what if I lost him again, and I hadn't ever felt that. I wanted right then to make love to him so that I would always have that in my heart no matter what.}Chloe finds herself also taking her relationship with Tristan to a new level. In this book, The Seven Spell Saga gets steamy. Since she is unable to choose will someone else do it for her?{I realized someone was next to me and turned quickly to see Tristan, "Chloe what's happening, I saw you come out here and you seem to have been gone for a long time so I came to check if you are ok".I smiled at him, "I'm fine Tristan I just had to call mom back, my gran is sick and she is staying in California for another two weeks". He looked concerned, "Oh no how sick? I hope she will be ok"."She will be its flu and asthma, so it's not desperate but she has to take care, that's all, thanks for asking," I told him as he slipped his arms around me and drew me close to him. He felt warm and I shivered suddenly as I noticed how cold I was, he hugged me. "Chloe you're freezing come back into the café".Instead, I kissed him and he held my head to his as we just kept kissing each other. He stepped back and smiled, "We better go in there before someone else comes along to check on you or both of us".We held hands until we were almost in the main body of the café when by mutual consent we let go and walked side by side.}As everyday life goes on between magical happenings, we hear from Oliver and Tristan. Oliver describes his experiences and we find out more about how he feels. The Sealed Door has some interesting revelations about Tristan's past. He finds himself feeling emotions he never expected to feel. He surprises his friends by his actions; this is not the Tristan we have come to know. When Tristan asks the archaeology team to open the sealed door found in a tunnel below his house, where Chloe lives, a surprise awaits him.Trouble is on the horizon from a surprising source. Tristan, Chloe and Oliver think they have encountered enough magic to have grown used to it by now, but they find this latest brush with witchcraft almost too much to bear.Who is Lily and better still who is Anna? When yet another experience from the past catches up with Tristan, the only thing that will fix things is yet another time travel adventure. The Sealed Door is sprinkled with love, magic, romance, danger and the unexpected.

Spellbinding (The Seven Spell Saga) ReviewI came across Spellbinding and The Spell Breaker when I was looking for something different and interesting to read on holiday.
Both books are really excellent. The characters are well developed, and it moves along at a great pace. The story makes you want to know what's going to happen next. I had a hard time adjusting to the way tense was used in the beginning but the main female character is telling the story in retrospect to begin with and it grows on you as you get wrapped up in the mystery and go along with it. The descriptions and scene setting are good, I love the character Oliver and a twist in the story had me desperate to see what happened next to him so even though I was thinking of reading the second book after about a week I started it straight away and I can't wait to get the third book to check on the characters.
Spellbinding (The Seven Spell Saga) OverviewSpellbinding is the first book in the series The Seven SpellSaga. It is paranormal romance, urban fantasy. The series of books, The Seven Spell Saga follows the lifeof Chloe McGarry as she tells her story to you the reader. At the same timeshe falls in love, and becomes best friends with Oliver; a modern endearingcharacter.Danger abounds, as the three main characters form an unusualtrio, to help each other. This is a long book. You step into Chloe's life and hearabout her feelings as she reports on what people say and do in a conversationaltone. In Spellbinding, she has just arrived in a new country andshe is settling down, in the second book The Spell Breaker she has experiencedsome strange things and we see her become more focused as she has fallen inlove with Oliver and Tristan. In the third book, written to have humour within some tragicplot twists we find her much more grown up and in the fourth book The SealedDoor, things had become steamy and you find her mature and strong. The style of each book changes to accommodate Chloe growingup.Description of Spellbinding from Amazon:When 18 year old Chloe McGarry moves with her family fromher home in California, to an English estate rich in history, she isn't surewhat to expect. The Seven Spell (The Seven Spell Saga) ReviewThe Seven Spell is the third book I have read in The Seven Spell Saga. I was expecting a lot from this book as the first two were great to read. I was not disappointed, this book is such fun, and there is lots of romance and twists in the characters lives. Magic, time travel, philosophy, treasure! I like how the characters use humour to lighten some tense situations.
I'm really looking forward to the fourth book. I found the authors website so I know she's writing it right now! Check the link is on the Amazon author page.
I really recommend this series of books, there's no werewolves or vampires but it's just as romantic as the Twilight books. Tristan is better than a vampire, read the series and I think you will agree.
The Seven Spell (The Seven Spell Saga) OverviewTristan Chloe and Oliver think they are finally safe from the influence of the 800-year-old magic spell that had hung over Tristan's life. The arrival of a man behaving strangely at the Abbey Museum heralds a new twist in their story. As everyday life goes on, with Jack Dearing seemingly determined to rid the family of Tristan, and Chloe heading deeper in love with Oliver, a series of bizarre magical things happen to complicate everyone's life.Does the beautiful girl visitor that catches Tristan's eye mean the end of Chloe and Tristan? As events spiral almost out of control, Tristan fights to save his home and his relationship with Chloe.
